Deriving from BBC Natural History Unit’s documentary series, Blue Planet II: One Ocean and The Deep, a two-hour film, will take you through an awe-inspiring underwater journey. As the title of the film suggests, it will introduce the viewers to the dark breath-taking side of the planet - the oceans. A far more thrilling sequel to the award-winning nature Documentary Series, The Blue Planet (2001), Blue Planet II has been shot over closely four years entailing as many as 125 sea expeditions across 39 countries around the world. Narrated by David Attenborough, the film will explore some of the rarest sea animals bringing out their intimate footage. The film direction crew spent over 1400 days hanging around the oceans, immersing the cameras in and out of the sea, to bring this grand version of Blue Planet to the screens. Researchers still claim that over 95% of the oceans still remain unexplored by humans. Yet, this film will prove to be a great adventure for the viewers identifying some highly elusive sea creatures- hardly seen or heard of. The jaw-dropping flick beautifully captures sea lions, humpback whales, the tuna fish and the deadly giant shark. Not just the footage of these animals moving around! The film encompasses some astonishing sequences where you would see one animal attacking the offspring of another and the crusade to survival. It also partially captures the food chain under the sea. The film closely presents the personality traits of some of the animals evoking human emotions among the viewers, beautifully. BBC’s sole objective of bringing well out the secrets of the deep oceans, as deep as 8 kilometers below the surface, has been justified throughout the 120-minute sequence of the film.
So, it is time you mark your calendars and apply for a day off worth exploring the lives under the sea. The film’s trailers have led a wave of excitement, awe and thrill among fans worldwide.
