It had been long since Bollywood saw a film about a vigilante. All those serious issues of a defunct legal authority, a hero emerging from among the common people and the villains of the system pulling all the strings to destroy him, are once again back with Harshvardhan Kapoor’s Bhavesh Joshi Superhero that hits the theatres this week.

Bhavesh Joshi Story | Plot |Synopsis

In a typical hero-villain pattern of Indian films, Vikramaditya Motwane’s Bhavesh Joshi Superhero is all set to bring back some thrill. An action-packed sequence circling around the life of a young angry man who fights corruption and irregularities in the system, Bhavesh Joshi Superhero will focus at a vigilante. The film sees the central character, Harshvardhan Kapoor, emerging as hero setting up his own governance. Agitated over the death of a close friend, the guy decides to take revenge of it. In the due course of his journey of revenge, he realises his potential to do things is much bigger and he takes up a crusade for the betterment of the fellows around him. Shot majorly in Mumbai, the film highlights the water scarcity problem that hovers over the city and the operations of the water mafia around it. The film shows that often the water that comes via government supply is either stolen or leaked to divert the supply. This forces the residents in certain localities to pay money from their own pockets to survive the water needs. The film throws light on a critical concern the Indian government has been facing. This film sees the hero taking a toll over the mafia and also setting up a vigilante to curb the issue. The other important characters in the film include - Priyanshu PaniyuliAshish Verma, and Nishikant Kama. The Gujrati boy turned superhero sees some super-powers he possesses and uses to challenge the miscreants. Investing 30 Cr in the film, the Director sees a huge return from the film. The lead character, veteran actor Anil Kapoor’s son, says his father could do this role better than him had the film been shot two decades ago. The character of Bhavesh matches with his father’s, he said, stating that the role demanded too much energy. The film hits the theatre this Friday (June 1), running into a close competition with Kareena’s Veere Di Wedding. Bollywood fans are excited to see the Kapoor son in his second film. Stay tuned!

Ever heard of a party high in the Sky? It is time for Bollywood fans to witness something similar, loaded with some off-beat super entertaining comedy, this Friday. A perfect example of “expect the unexpected”, High Jack, the comedy drama by Akarsh Khurana, will likely take the audience to a new laughter high with its highly engaging plot and comic sequences. All set to hit the theatres on May 18, High Jack will bring out humour out of a serious issue of a plane highjack by its own crew.

High Jack Story | Plot | Synopsis

Starring Sumeet Vyas, Mantra and Sonnalli Seygall, High Jack is set to leave the audience with giggles and laughter. To give you a fun-filled start to the weekend, the film will entail some super-funny sequences worth replaying and rejoicing. The story of the film circles around a young struggling DJ who, in a dire need of money, agrees to ship a packet while travelling in a flight from Goa to Delhi, oblivious of the fact that it contains dope. He boards a flight that ends up being hijacked by its own crew as a mark of protest against the management and a mode to claim their pending dues. The film takes a super-exciting turn when Rakesh, the role played by Sumeet, ends up distributing dope to most of the passengers onboard the plane and the flight soon turns into a big party in the air. Rakesh agrees to carry the packet as he needs money to save his father’s dwindling clinic. Disappointed over a cancelled show in Goa, which had to fetch him a good amount of money, he quickly gets into the dope transit affair, unknowingly. The film includes some hilarious instances when the passengers behave oddly under the influence of dope. So much so, that Rakesh ends up playing the DJ in the air and the passengers as well as some of the crew members forget where they are. They tend to dance, celebrate and rejoice the party.

Unlike the appearance of the name, which gives it an intense and serious connotation, the film is full of drama, humour and comedy. After undergoing a number of revisions - complying with the objections by the Censor Board and seeing a few postponements in the release date, High Jack is up for a release this Friday (May 18). The film presents a fantastic blend of comedy, glamour, music and rendezvous. Stay tuned!

Horror thrillers in Bollywood are taking a new turn. The typical revengeful spirits who take over the modern housewives troubling a miscreant husband or a male lover take a backseat. Bollywood is now all set for an off-beat horror that sees a novelist entrapped by a spirit unveiling some hidden secrets of a deep, dark bungalow. The Past, debuted by Director Gagan Puri, will hit the theatres this Friday (May 11).

The Past 2018 Story | Plot | Synopsis

Taking a break from the monotony of Bollywood horror sequences that typically see vindictive spirits ruining the lives of lead couples, one out of whom has an ugly past, Gagan Puri’s debut film as a Director, The Past, seems more promising. The film, seeing Yuvraaj Parashar and Vedita Pratap Singh in the lead roles, entails a captivating plot. Vedita plays a novelist while Yuvraj is portrayed as sole owner of a publishing house named Nexus publications. He gets in touch with Simran (the character played by Vedita) for writing a novel based on his own story. As she agrees to his offer, he invites her to reside at his bungalow in Lonavala. The story is not so simple, as you thought so far. The chronicles begin as soon as Simran reaches the bungalow alongwith her sister Alia. Soon after the duo begin to live there, an evil spirit takes over Simran’s body. Spotting her paranormal activities
around the bungalow and identifying the fact that Simran gets possessed by an evil spirit, Alia calls in Simran’s friend Disha who further brings along a psychiatrist named Jane. Jane manages to help Simran move out of this chronicle by involving a few more characters in the film. Simran ends up revealing some deep, dark secrets about the bungalow and the people associated with it. The entire film revolves around some highly engaging, scary and thrilling sequences. Unlike the typical Bollywood horrors, The Past, has something fresh to offer to the audience. Moving away from the boring and predictable storylines of horror films released over the last couple of years, this one sees horror-drama with a different eye.

The Past sees Sonia Albizuri and Samiksha Bhatt too in important roles. Even though it’s a debutant film by Gagan Puri, it promises to grab the awe of the viewers with some impressive sequences capturing the paranormal activity. The secrets revealed by Simran also keep up the elements of suspense and curiosity alive.
