Story revolves around 17-year-old Katie Price played by Bella Thorne, who portrayed Ruthy Spivey in the famous television series My Own Worst Enemy. Bella manifested signs of Pain and helplessness as she is sheltered at home since childhood because of a rare genetic condition called xeroderma pigmentosum. It is a life-threatening disease that has severe sensitivity to sunlight. Having only her father Jack played by Rob Riggle for company, Katie's world experience a new dawn after dark when in the evening, she ventures outside to play her guitar. One night, her dreams come true when she's noticed and asked out by her long time crush Charlie played by Patrick Schwarzenegger, whom she's secretly watched from her bedroom window for years. As love blossoms, they embark on nightly summer excursions, Katie's risk to sunlight grows and she's presented with the heart wrenching dilemma of whether she can live a normal life with her newfound soul mate.
Directed by Scott Speer and written by Eric Kirsten this film is based on the 2006 Japanese film Taiyô no uta.
