Are you one of the ardent fans of Tollywood movies and also have a perpetual fondness for multi-talented Ram Charan for his exhibition of a hero at its best? Also if you are 80’s kid grown up in those wonderful days when technology was far behind the emotions, then this Friday is exclusively for you. Book your seats to enjoy the Upcoming Indian Telugu period revenge drama- Rangasthalam; One of Tollywood’s most-awaited films, directed by the very talented director Sukumar, whose films like 1-Nenokkadine, Nannaku Prematho and Arya 2 created some different world for you.

Rangasthalam Story

Set in the backdrop of a drought-stricken village across the Godavari belt Rangasthalam, the film centres on the protagonist Chitti Babu, a boatman, who fights the powerful landlords to make the water accessible to the farmers. It is the solo Telugu film to come out this week, and it is getting a wide release in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. Getting the advantage over the ongoing Kollywood strike, the film has been allotted more than 100 screens in Tamil Nadu too. This the biggest release for a Ram Charan film in the neighbouring state by any standards.

This time audience and fans of Ram Charan will get to see him through an entirely different spectrum as he has put aside his stylish on-screen image and has deglamourized himself for the character Chitti Babu, a villager living across the Godavari belt. Not just physical makeover, Ram has also put in efforts to get the body language as well as the dialect right. The biggest USP and the charm of the character is the display of Rangasthalam’s protagonist is unique. Not very often we see humongous films having a differently abled hero; here Ram Charan as Chitti Babu is partially deaf and this part of his character seems to pave way for a lot of laughs, emotion and drama. The movie unfolds with a revenge drama in the backdrop of local politics. This film will surely make the people of the 80s, a bit nostalgic. In fact, the film was first titled Rangasthalam 1985. However, 1985 was later dropped from the title.

Virtual effects are used so flawlessly that the sets are giving a fresh touch of the spectacular beauty; a rural area offers in-spite of being only sets. In fact, Megastar Chiranjeevi (proud dad of such a talented actor) said that the audience won’t be able to tell the set piece from the real location.
